📱

Getting Started

Download the app and create your account in under 2 minutes

1

Download the App

Open Google Play Store on your Android phone and search for Mitrotsav, or tap the Download button on this page.

📲 Requires Android 7.0 or higher
2

Enter Your Mobile Number

Open the app and enter your Indian mobile number (10 digits, without the country code).

3

Select Your Date of Birth

Tap the Date of Birth field (required — marked with *) and pick your birth date from the calendar. This is needed on every login, not just the first time — it is how Mitrotsav verifies it's really you without a password.

  • You must be 18 or older to use Mitrotsav. If your date of birth shows you are under 18, you will not be able to proceed.
  • Minimum age to use the app is 18 years
⚠️ Returning users: your date of birth must match what you entered when you first signed up. If it doesn't match, you will see a mismatch error — correct the date and try again.
4

Verify with OTP

Tap Send OTP. A 6-digit code is sent to your mobile number via SMS. Enter it on the next screen to log in.

⏱ OTP is valid for 5 minutes. Tap "Resend OTP" if it expires.
5

Set Up Your Profile (First Time Only)

New users are taken to the profile setup screen. Fill in:

  • Name — your display name on the app
  • Profile Photo — pick one from your gallery
  • Date of Birth — pre-filled from login, can be confirmed here
  • Profession — helps friends recognise you
  • Bio — a short line about yourself
🔞 Mitrotsav is for users aged 18 and above. Your date of birth entered at login is used to confirm you meet this requirement.
6

You're In!

You land on the Home screen — your personal dashboard showing today's occasions, friend activity, top performers, and upcoming celebrations.

📅

My Calendar

See friends' occasions on any date, take quick actions, and keep personal notes with reminders

📍 The calendar lives on the Home screen. It is hidden by default — tap the calendar toggle to expand the monthly grid. Tap it again to hide it. Highlighted dates have friends' events; any date — even empty ones — can be tapped to open the diary sheet.
1

Open the Calendar

On the Home screen, tap the calendar icon or the month label to reveal the monthly grid. Dates with friends' occasions or your saved notes are highlighted with a colour dot. Tap the toggle again to collapse the calendar.

2

Tap Any Date

Tap any date in the grid — highlighted or not — to open a date sheet at the bottom of the screen. The sheet lists all events happening on that day and shows your personal diary notes below them.

3

What Shows for Each Event Type

The date sheet adapts based on the type of occasion on that day:

  • 🎆 Festival — shows the festival name and details only. No action buttons — purely informational.
  • 🎉 Occasion you're hosting — short details + a View button. Tap View to jump to that occasion in the Occasions screen.
  • 💌 Occasion you're invited to — two action buttons: Gift (declare a gift intent) and Wish (send a wish card).
  • 🎂 Friend's birthday or anniversary — a Send Wish button to send a wish card in one tap.
4

Add a Personal Note (Calendar Diary)

Every date sheet has a Notes section at the bottom, showing the date you're saving for. Tap the + button to open the note form:

  • Type your note (e.g. "Buy a cake", "Call mom after 6 pm")
  • Optionally tap Set reminder and pick a date and time — the app sends you a push notification at that exact moment with the date in the reminder title
  • Tap Add to save the note to that date

Notes are private — only you can see them. They are stored on your device.

📌 A small teal dot appears below any calendar date that has notes saved, so you can spot your diary entries at a glance without opening the sheet.
5

Check Off or Delete a Note

Tap the circle next to any note to mark it as done (it strikes through and turns teal green). Tap the trash icon on the right to delete a note permanently. Deleting a note also cancels its scheduled reminder notification automatically.

💡 Use the calendar diary to plan around your friends' celebrations — add a note to buy a gift a week before their birthday, set a reminder so you don't forget, and check it off once it's done.

Friends

Build your circle — add friends, accept requests, view profiles, and start conversations

1

Open the Friends Tab

Tap Friends in the bottom navigation bar to see your full friends list.

2

Tap the Add Button

Tap the + Add button (top-right of the Friends tab). A search bar appears — it highlights with a distinct colour to show it is active.

3

Search by Name or Mobile Number

Type at least 2 characters in the search bar — either a person's name or their mobile number. After a short pause, a list of matching Mitrotsav users appears below the search bar.

🔍 Search works for both name and number. You do not need the full name — partial matches appear too.
4

Send the Friend Request

Each result shows the person's name with a Send button next to it. Tap Send against the person you want to add. A confirmation message appears, the search bar clears, and the panel closes automatically.

  • If the request was already sent, the button shows Pending instead
  • If you are already friends, the button shows Friends
5

Invite Someone Not on the App

If the person you are looking for is not on Mitrotsav yet, tap Invite. The app opens WhatsApp (or falls back to SMS) with a pre-filled invitation message. Once they sign up, you can send a friend request.

6

Tap any friend's name in your list to open their profile. From here you can see when they joined, tap Message to start a chat, or tap their occasions to send a wish.

8

Call or Message from Chat

Inside any chat conversation, tap the phone icon (🎤) for a voice call or the camera icon (📹) for a video call. Calls work over the internet — no mobile minutes needed.

🎊

Occasions

Create occasions, invite friends, and never miss a celebration

1

Open the Occasions Tab

Tap Occasions in the bottom navigation bar to see your occasions and your invitation inbox.

2

Create a New Occasion

Tap the button (bottom-right) and choose the occasion type:

  • 🎂 Birthday
  • 💍 Marriage / Anniversary
  • 🎉 Party
  • 🎆 Festival
  • 🎓 Graduation
  • 👶 Baby Shower
  • 🏠 House Ceremony
  • ✨ Custom

For most types you'll be asked "Whose occasion is this?" — you can select Self (e.g. My Birthday, My Graduation) or a family member (Son, Daughter, Brother, Sister, Father, Mother) or Others and type any name. Occasions are not limited to other people — create them for yourself whenever it is your own celebration.

Set the start/end dates, add an optional description, and optionally add a venue. Tap Create.

📅 Invited friends are automatically reminded as the occasion approaches.
3

Set or Update the Venue

The venue is a Google Maps link. You can set it two ways:

  • During creation — tap the Venue field, the map picker opens, search or pin the location, and confirm.
  • After creation — tap Manage → Revise Venue on the occasion card at any time to update the location.

Once set, a Venue set link appears on your occasion card (and on every invited guest's Party Time card). Tapping it opens the exact location in Google Maps.

📍 Set the venue before sending invitations so guests immediately see where to go.
4

Invite Friends

On the occasion card tap Manage → Invite Friends → select from your Mitrotsav friends list → tap Send Now. Each friend receives an invitation notification and sees the occasion in their Party Time screen.

✉️ You can also invite offline contacts via SMS by entering their mobile number.
5

Manage the Occasion (Host)

Tap Manage on any occasion card you created to:

  • Edit title, date, or description
  • Revise or add the venue location
  • See who was invited (their accept/decline status)
  • Set up preference questions for guests
  • View the preferences report
  • See all wish cards sent by guests
  • Cancel the occasion
6

Responding to an Invitation (Guest)

When invited, go to Party Time → Invited or open the notification. Each invitation card shows the venue link, a countdown, and buttons to Send Wish, fill Prefs, join a Gift Pool, view the host's Wishlist, or decline.

📬 Today's Invitations — Tap the calendar badge on the Home screen to see all pending invitations in one place. Each card shows the inviter's name, occasion title, date, and a tappable venue link. Declined invitations appear greyed out.
🎁

Occasion Wishlist

Let guests know what gifts you (or the guest of honour) would love — and let them claim items so no two guests give the same thing

💡 Every occasion card has a Wishlist button. Tapping it asks whose wishlist guests should see — yours or a friend/family member's. Both options are explained below.
1

Use Your Own Wishlist

If the occasion is your own celebration (e.g. My Birthday, My Graduation), your Mitrotsav wishlist is shown to invited guests by default — no extra setup needed. To confirm or add items:

  • Tap Wishlist on your occasion card
  • Choose My Own Wishlist
  • You are taken to your Wishlist tab — add or remove items there
  • Guests will see whatever is in your wishlist when they open the occasion
🎁 Items appear for guests as soon as they are in your wishlist — no separate approval step.
2

Request a Friend or Family Member's Wishlist (Honoree Flow)

If you are organising an occasion for someone else (a child's birthday, a relative's anniversary), you can ask that person to share their Mitrotsav wishlist with your guests:

  • Tap Wishlist on the occasion card
  • Choose A Friend / Family Member
  • Pick the person from your friends list (they must be a Mitrotsav friend)
  • Tap their name — a consent request is sent to them instantly
🔒 The person's wishlist is never shared without their explicit approval — they decide which items to include.
3

For the Honoree — Reviewing and Approving the Request

When someone requests your wishlist for their occasion, you receive a notification. To review it:

  • Tap the notification → the Wishlist Request screen opens
  • You see the occasion title and the requester's name at the top
  • Your full Mitrotsav wishlist is listed with checkboxes
  • Tick the items you are happy for guests to see (you can select all or just some)
  • Tap Share X items to approve — only your chosen items become visible to guests
  • Or tap Decline to notify the organiser that you prefer not to share

You can come back to this screen at any time (via Notifications → the same request) to update your selection — add more items or remove some.

✅ The organiser is notified once you approve or decline.
4

For Guests — Viewing and Claiming Wishlist Items

When you are invited to an occasion that has a wishlist set up:

  • Go to Party Time → Invited → find the occasion card
  • Tap Wishlist on the card
  • A list of gift items appears — each shows the product name, photo, and price
  • Tap Claim for them on any item to mark it as your gift
  • Other guests immediately see the item as Taken — no duplicate gifts
  • Changed your mind? Tap the item again and choose Release to free it up
🔒 Once an item is claimed by one guest it is locked to that guest. First to tap claims it.
🎯 Which wishlist do guests see? If an honoree has approved items, guests see only those approved items. If no honoree is set (or before they approve), guests see the occasion creator's own Mitrotsav wishlist. Either way, claiming works the same way.
🎉

Party Time

See the occasions you've been invited to and take action from each one

📍 Access Party Time from Home → Party Time. The default view is the Invited tab — all the occasions your friends have invited you to. Every action (wish card, preferences, gift pool) flows from these invitation cards.
1

See Your Invitations (Invited Tab)

Each card shows the occasion emoji, title, the host's name, the event date, a countdown ("In 3 days", "Tomorrow", "Today"), and your venue status:

  • 📍 View venue (blue, underlined) — tap to open the location in Google Maps
  • 📍 No venue set yet (grey) — the host hasn't added a venue yet

A colour-coded badge shows your RSVP status:

  • 🟡 Pending — you haven't responded yet
  • 🟢 Attending — you accepted
  • 🔴 Declined — you declined
2

Send a Wish Card to the Host

On any upcoming invitation card, tap Send Wish. This opens the wish card flow pre-filled with the host's occasion — write your message and send it directly from here.

3

Fill in Your Preferences

Tap Prefs on the invitation card to answer any preference questions the host has set up (e.g. "Will you attend?", "Any dietary restrictions?"). Your answers go straight to the host's report.

4

Start or Join a Gift Pool

Tap Gift Pool on the invitation card to create a group gift pool for the host's occasion, or join one that another guest has already started. This is how guests coordinate a shared gift — the host does not see this option on their own events.

5

Claim a Gift from the Wishlist

Tap Wishlist on the invitation card to see the items the host (or their designated honoree) has listed as gifts they'd love. Tap Claim for them on any item to mark it as yours — other guests immediately see it as Taken. This prevents two people from giving the same gift.

  • Items you have claimed show a Release button — tap it to free the item if you change your mind
  • Items claimed by another guest show Taken and cannot be selected
  • Items tied to a group gift pool show In pool
6

Decline an Invitation

Tap Decline invitation at the bottom of any upcoming card. A confirmation prompt appears — confirm to notify the host. The card stays visible but greys out to show you declined.

7

Pending Gift Pool Banner

If a friend has invited you to a gift pool for one of the occasions on this screen, a green banner appears at the top of the Invited tab listing each pending pool with its gift name and occasion. Tap Accept / Decline → on any row to respond.

8

Declare a Gift Intent (Guest)

On any invitation card you can declare your gift intent — tell the occasion what kind of gift you plan to bring, without spoiling the surprise. Tap Gift on the invitation card and choose:

  • Category — e.g. Electronics, Fashion & Apparel, Home & Living
  • Gift type — e.g. Earbuds, Saree, Candles
  • Budget range — optional, e.g. ₹500–₹1000

Your intent is added to the occasion's Gift Board as an anonymous entry — other guests can see that "someone is getting a Saree in ₹500–₹1,000" without knowing it's you. This prevents duplicate gifts. Update the status to Purchased once you've bought it, and Delivered once it's been given.

🔒 The Gift Board stays locked to all guests while the occasion is active. It only reveals after the host opens it or 7 days after the occasion.
9

Hosting Tab — Your Own Events

Switch to the Hosting tab to manage occasions you created. Each event shows how many guests were invited and gives you three actions:

  • 📋 Setup Prefs — create preference questions for guests
  • 📊 RSVP — view a summary of all guest responses
  • 💌 Wishes — see all wish cards your guests have sent you

After the occasion has passed, a Open Gift Board button appears. Tap it to choose who can see the gift board:

  • Only me (private preview) — you see all the anonymous gift intents immediately. Guests still see the board locked. Useful for reviewing before revealing.
  • Reveal to everyone — all participants (guests, honoree, host) can now view the full anonymous board. This is permanent — you cannot re-lock it once revealed.

The board also opens automatically to everyone 7 days after the occasion date.

🎯 Gift intents help guests coordinate without spoiling surprises. See the Gift Intents & Board section for the full picture of how this works.
🎯

Gift Intents & Board

Coordinate gifts anonymously — declare your plan, avoid duplicates, and reveal everything after the occasion

💡 The Gift Board is a black box while the occasion is active. No one can see what anyone else is getting — only after the host opens the board do all the intents become visible, and even then names are hidden. It's a way to coordinate without spoiling any surprises.
For Guests — Declaring Your Gift Intent
1

Find the Gift Button

Go to Party Time → Invited. On any active invitation card where you have accepted or are pending, tap the Gift button (green, with a gift icon).

2

Declare Your Intent

A gift intent picker opens. Select:

  • Category — e.g. Electronics, Fashion & Apparel, Beauty & Grooming, Books & Learning, Food & Treats, Experiences, Home & Living, Hobbies & Sports, Other
  • Gift type — specific item within the category, e.g. Earbuds, Saree, Moisturiser
  • Budget range — optional, e.g. ₹500–₹1,000

Tap Declare Intent. Your intent is saved as an anonymous entry on the occasion's Gift Board.

🔒 No one — not even the host — can see whose name is behind any entry until after the board is revealed. And not even then! Names are never shown.
3

Update Your Status

Once you've bought the gift, update your intent status. Go to Party Time → Invited → Gift to see your own intent and change the status to:

  • Intending — planning to buy (default)
  • Purchased — you have bought the gift
  • 🎁 Delivered — you have given it to the recipient

You can also cancel your intent if your plans change — this frees up that gift type for another guest.

4

First Come, First Served

If another guest has already declared the same category + type combination, it is locked to them. The app will tell you it's taken and ask you to choose a different gift type. This is how duplicate gifts are avoided — the first to declare owns that gift type for the occasion.

5

Viewing the Board (After Reveal)

Once the host reveals the board (or 7 days after the occasion), go to Party Time → Invited → Gift Board on the invitation card. You'll see all intents with their category, type, budget range, and status — but no names. Just a summary of the gifts that were planned for the celebration.

For Hosts — Controlling the Gift Board
1

The Board is Hidden While the Occasion is Active

While your occasion is upcoming or ongoing, neither you nor your guests can see the gift board. This is intentional — it keeps gift plans private and lets guests coordinate without spoiling anything. The Open Gift Board button only appears after the occasion date has passed.

2

Open the Board for Yourself First (Private Preview)

Go to Party Time → Hosting. After your occasion has passed, tap Open Gift Board → choose Only me (private preview).

  • You immediately see the full anonymous board — all category/type/budget/status entries
  • Guests still see the board locked — they won't know you've peeked
  • Use this to review before deciding to reveal to everyone
👁 This is a one-way action — once you open for yourself, you cannot close it again. You can still delay revealing to everyone.
3

Reveal to Everyone

When you're ready for all participants to see the board, go to Party Time → Hosting → Reveal to Everyone (or tap Open Gift Board → Reveal to everyone if you haven't previewed yet).

  • A confirmation dialog warns that this is permanent
  • Once confirmed, all guests and participants can view the full board
  • Names are still never shown — only anonymous gift entries
⚠️ Revealing to everyone is permanent. Once revealed, the board cannot be locked again.
4

Automatic Reveal After 7 Days

If you take no action, the gift board automatically becomes visible to all participants exactly 7 days after the occasion's start date. This ensures guests always get to see the board eventually, even if the host forgets to reveal it manually.

🛡️ Names are never shown — not to guests, not to the host, not after reveal. The Gift Board only shows what was gifted (category, type, budget, status). Mitrotsav keeps gift-givers anonymous by design so guests feel comfortable declaring their plans honestly.
💌

Wish Cards

Send a beautiful themed greeting card for any friend's occasion

1

Go to a Friend's Occasion

Tap Friends → select a friend → tap their occasion (e.g. Birthday). Or go to Party Time → Invited and tap Send Wish on any event card.

2

Tap "Send Wish Card"

A themed postcard is automatically matched to the occasion type. You will see a preview of the card design before sending.

3

Write Your Message

A default wish message is pre-filled based on the occasion. Personalise it by tapping the text and editing freely.

4

Add a Gift Promise (Optional)

Pick one product from your friend's wishlist to reference — this "claims" it so no two friends promise the same gift.

5

Send!

Tap Send Wish Card. Your friend receives it instantly in the app and gets a push notification.

📬 View received wish cards under Profile → Gifts Received, or open the occasion and tap Wishes.
💡 You can also send a quick wish directly from Home → Quick Message: select a friend, pick their upcoming occasion, type your message, and send — all in under 30 seconds.

🎙 Make sure microphone permission is granted when prompted.
7

Make a Video Call

Inside a chat, tap the video icon (📹) in the top bar. Both front cameras activate automatically once the call connects. Tap the camera icon on the call screen to switch between front and back cameras.

📷 Camera and microphone permissions are both required for video calls.

9

During a Call — Controls

On the call screen you can:

  • 🔇 Mute / Unmute — tap the microphone button
  • 🔊 Speaker toggle — tap the speaker button to switch between earpiece and loudspeaker

🎁

Wishlist

Tell friends what you'd love to receive — they can reference it when sending gifts

1

Open Your Wishlist

Tap the Gifts (🎁) icon in the bottom navigation bar → select My Wishlist.

2

Add Items — Three Ways

Tap the + Add Items button. A sheet appears with three options:

  • Mitrotsav Store — Browse products available directly on Mitrotsav. Tap any product to add it instantly.
  • External Sites — Choose a category, budget range, and a store (Amazon, Flipkart, Meesho, and more). The app opens that store filtered to your preferences. Find something you like, come back to Mitrotsav, and the app asks "Found something you like?" — enter the item name and price and tap Save to Wishlist.
📌 Use External Sites when you know exactly what you want from a specific store — the budget filter helps narrow results automatically.
3

Gift Yourself — Browse for You

Below the Add to Wishlist options you'll see a Gift Yourself button. This is a private browsing mode just for you — not for others to buy for you, but to explore things you'd love to own yourself. Choose Mitrotsav Store or an external site, browse freely, and optionally save anything you find to your wishlist.

  • Pick a category (e.g. Electronics, Fashion, Home)
  • Pick a type (e.g. Earbuds, Saree, Lamp)
  • Pick a budget range
  • Pick a store (Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, Meesho, etc.)
  • The store opens pre-filtered — browse at your leisure
  • When you return, a prompt lets you save the item by name and price
💡 If you didn't find anything you liked, tap Skip to go back without saving.
4

View a Friend's Wishlist

Go to Friends → tap a friend's name → tap Wishlist to see what they would love to receive.

5

Remove an Item

In your Wishlist, tap the item → tap Remove from Wishlist. Items already claimed in a wish card will be marked accordingly.

💡 Items you claim in a wish card are marked as Claimed on your friend's wishlist — this prevents two friends from promising the same gift. Claimed items are unlocked again if the wish card is cancelled.
🎊 Occasion Wishlist claiming — When you are invited to an occasion, guests can also claim wishlist items directly from the Party Time → Invited → Wishlist button. This is separate from the Wishlist tab — it's tied to a specific occasion so the host and everyone invited can see which items are taken. See the Occasion Wishlist section for the full flow.
🛍️

Send a Gift

Order a real product for a friend and have it delivered to their door (or yours)

1

Start the Gift Flow

Go to Home → Send Gift, or open a friend's profile and tap Send Gift. You can also tap Send Gift from the Quick Message screen.

2

Select a Friend

Scroll through the friend carousel or search by name and tap their avatar to select them.

3

Select an Occasion

Choose one of the friend's upcoming occasions from the horizontal list. This links your gift to the celebration.

📅 Only future occasions are shown. If none appear, the friend has no upcoming occasions set up.
4

Choose Your Gift(s)

Two sections help you pick:

  • From their Wishlist — items your friend specifically added. These are ideal choices.
  • Product Catalog — browse by category (Electronics, Home Decor, Gifts, Personalised, Chocolates, Plants, and more).

Tap any product to select it. You can choose multiple items. Products already being gifted by another friend are greyed out.

5

Enter Delivery Address

Fill in the shipping details. Toggle Ship to Me to send the gift to your own address instead (e.g. to wrap it yourself), or leave it off to ship directly to your friend.

6

Choose Payment Method

  • Razorpay (Prepaid) — pay now via UPI, card, or net banking
  • Cash on Delivery (COD) — only available when shipping to yourself
7

Add a Personal Note (Optional)

Type a short message (up to 200 characters) that will be included with the gift.

8

Place Your Order

Tap the Send Gift button (shows count of selected items). Review the summary and confirm. For Razorpay, complete payment in the secure gateway. Your friend receives a notification when the gift is on its way.

🤝

Gift Pools

Coordinate group gifting — everyone chips in for one special gift

1

Create a Gift Pool

Go to Occasions → open a friend's occasion → tap Create Gift Pool. Set a title, choose the product from the catalog, and set a target amount.

2

Invite Friends to the Pool

Add friends from your list and suggest how much each person could contribute. They will each receive a pool invitation notification.

3

Joining a Pool

When a friend invites you, tap Accept in the notification or in Gift Pools → Invitations. You can adjust your contribution amount before confirming.

🎉 You can also accept from the Party Time screen — pending pool invitations are shown in a banner.
4

Track Progress

Go to Gift Pools (accessible from the Home screen or Occasions tab) to see all active pools, who has promised their share, and the total collected vs the target.

5

Pool Chat & Tasks

Inside each pool, tap Chat to coordinate with other members. Tap Tasks to create and assign to-dos (e.g. "Book the cake", "Buy wrapping paper") so nothing falls through the cracks.

🤝 Promised Pool — For informal coordination without app payments, use a Promised Pool. It tracks who promised what and shared tasks, without any money going through the app. Perfect when friends prefer to handle payments themselves.

Promotions & Discover

Celebrate your friends publicly — with their consent — and discover promoted members

1

Promote a Friend

Go to Home → Promotions → tap + Promote a Friend → select a friend from your list. Fill in:

  • Title — a short headline for the promotion
  • Category — Products, Books & Theory, Social, Eateries, or Other
  • Description — what you want to say about your friend
  • Media — optional photo(s) or video(s)

Tap Send for Approval. Your friend must review and approve before it goes live.

🔒 You can promote the same friend in multiple categories — each is a separate promotion thread.
2

Pending Approval — What the Promoter Sees

Once you submit a promotion, it shows as Sent for Approval on your promotions list. It is only visible to you and your friend until they decide. You will be notified when they accept or decline.

3

When Someone Promotes You — Review & Decide

You will receive a notification. A banner appears at the top of Promotions listing each pending item with the promoter's name, category badge, and title. Tap View & Decide → on any item to open the full content — photo, video, title, description — and then choose:

  • Accept & Go Live — the promotion becomes public to your mutual friends
  • Decline — the promotion is removed and the promoter is notified
👁 You always see the full content before making a decision. There is no way for someone to publish about you without your explicit approval.
4

Multiple Pending Items

If several friends have promoted you across different categories, each appears as its own card in the pending banner. Review and decide on each one independently — you can accept some and decline others.

5

Add Media with a Caption to a Promotion Thread

After a promotion is live, you (the promoter) can add more photos or videos to the thread at any time:

  • Open the promotion thread → tap Add to List
  • Enter the media URL (photo or video link)
  • Optionally add a Caption (up to 200 characters) to describe the media
  • Tap Add — the media appears in the thread with your caption shown below it
📝 Captions are per media item — add context for each photo or video separately. Each new media item also goes through a quick consent check before going live.

Occasion Preferences

Collect guest preferences before your occasion — dietary needs, attendance, and more

1

Set Up Questions (Host)

Open your occasion → tap Preferences → tap Add Question. Create questions for your guests such as "Will you attend in person?", "Any dietary restrictions?", or "T-shirt size for the event kit?"

2

Fill in Preferences (Guest)

When invited to an occasion that has preference questions, you will see a Fill Preferences prompt. Tap it to answer the host's questions. You can also access it from Party Time → Invited → Prefs.

3

Go to your occasion → tap Preferences Report to see a summary of all guest responses in one place. Use this to plan catering, seating, and logistics.

🏛️

Friends Digital Parliament (FDP)

Debate real-world topics with friends, vote as a party, earn crowns — a mini democracy you play with your circle

📍 Access FDP from Home → 🏛️ Digital Parliament. The main screen shows the active session, your party, all five party symbols, and navigation to past results.
Part A — Joining or Starting a Party
1

The Five Party Symbols

FDP has exactly 5 animal symbols. Any group of users can claim one symbol and name their party. The main screen lists all five with their current status:

  • If a symbol is unclaimed — tap Claim to start a new party under that symbol (you become the founding leader)
  • If a symbol is claimed — tap Join to send a membership request to that party's leader
  • Your current party shows a Mine badge
2

Starting a New Party (Claim a Symbol)

Tap Claim on any unclaimed symbol. Enter your party's name and a short philosophy statement. You become the founding leader — you can start approving members immediately.

3

Joining an Existing Party

Tap Join on any claimed symbol → tap Request to Join. The party leader reviews your request and either approves or rejects it. You'll get a notification once a decision is made. Until then you cannot vote.

4

Leader — Approving Join Requests

Open your party page → the Join Requests section lists pending applicants. Tap ✓ to approve or ✗ to reject each one. Approved members can immediately vote in any live session.

5

Leaving a Party

If you are a regular member (not leader), scroll to the bottom of your party page and tap Leave Party. You can then join or start a different party. Leaders cannot leave — they must first hand over leadership via an election.

Part B — Live Sessions (Voting & Verdicts)
1

How a Session Works — 5-Day Cycle

The admin (or the Lead Forum — see Part D) posts a real-world topic. A session runs for up to 5 days:

  • Days 1–3 (Voting) — all party members cast their personal vote
  • Day 4 (Verdict) — party leaders write and submit their party's official verdict
  • Day 5 (Results) — results are published; the winning party earns a 👑 Crown

The active session appears as a dark card at the top of the FDP screen with a LIVE · Day X of 5 badge. Tap it to open.

2

Reading the Topic

Inside the session screen you see the topic card with:

  • A category tag (e.g. Education, Environment, Health)
  • The topic title and full description
  • An optional supporting image
  • A source citation link if admin provided one

Read the full context before voting — the description provides background that your vote should be based on.

3

Cast Your Vote (Days 1–3)

Tap one of three options:

  • 👍 Agreed — you agree with the topic statement
  • 👎 Not Agreed — you disagree
  • No Idea — you're unsure or need more information

Your vote is recorded immediately. A counter below shows how many of your party members have voted. You can change your vote at any time while voting is open — just tap a different option.

📊 You must be a party member to vote. If you haven't joined a party yet, tap "Join a party →" shown on the session screen.
4

Paused Sessions

Admins can temporarily freeze a session if content needs review. While paused, the session shows a PAUSED badge and a grey notice card. Voting and verdict submission are on hold — check back later.

5

Leader — Submitting the Party Verdict

As party leader you see a Party Verdict for Speaker section during the session. You can submit the verdict in two situations:

  • Early close — if all your party members have voted before Day 4, a green banner appears. Tap Close Voting & Submit Verdict to proceed immediately
  • Day 4 (Verdict phase) — the Submit button becomes active for all leaders regardless of how many members have voted

Write your party's official position (up to 300 characters). You may also add an optional supporting image or video URL — approved media earns your party an extra +20 points.

Tap Submit Verdict. Once submitted, the verdict is locked and sent to the Speaker (admin) for review. You cannot edit it after submission.

🚫 No political party names, religion references, politician names, or hate speech — violations result in a strike against your party.
6

Leader — Reviewing Other Parties' Verdicts

During the verdict phase, leaders can see other parties' submitted verdicts in an Other Parties' Verdicts section. If another party has included a media link that violates content rules, tap Object to media next to that verdict and describe the violation (min 10 characters). The admin will review the objection.

7

Results & Crown

On Day 5 results are published and visible to everyone. The party with the strongest participation and approved verdict earns a 👑 Crown for that session. Crowns accumulate on the party card — tap your party card to see the total. The Home screen shows the Last Winner banner with the winning party emoji and leader name.

8

Past Session Results

From the FDP main screen tap View past session results (at the bottom) to browse all completed sessions — topics, each party's verdict, and who won each crown.

Part C — Leadership Elections
1

Start a Monthly Election (Leader)

Open your party page → scroll to Leadership Election → tap Start Monthly Election. This opens the nomination phase for 3 days, followed by a voting phase.

2

Nominate Yourself (Member)

While the election is in the nominating phase, any party member can tap Nominate Myself to stand as a candidate. You'll appear in the nominees list — other members can then vote for you during the voting phase.

3

Auto-Nomination — Accept or Decline

The system may automatically nominate eligible members. If you are auto-nominated, your entry in the nominees list shows a pending note and two buttons: ✓ Accept (enter the race) or ✗ Decline (opt out). Decide before the nomination phase closes.

4

Vote for a Candidate

During the voting phase, the nominees list shows each candidate's current vote count. Tap Vote next to the candidate you support — you can only vote for someone other than yourself. A ✓ Voted badge confirms your choice.

5

Election Result

After the voting phase closes, the candidate with the most votes becomes the new party leader. The previous leader reverts to regular member status. The new leader can immediately approve join requests and submit verdicts in the next session.

Part D — Lead Forum (Party Leaders Only)
The Lead Forum is an exclusive space for party leaders only. It is where leaders propose discussion topics that — if agreed upon by a majority — get sent to admin for review and potentially become the next live session. Access it from the FDP main screen via Lead Forum — Propose Discussion.
1

Submit a New Proposal

Tap the + Propose Discussion button → enter a title and a description for your proposed topic → tap Submit. Your proposal is immediately visible to all other party leaders in the forum.

2

Vote on Proposals

Each proposal shows the current status and a voting section. Tap Agreed, Not Agreed, or No Idea on any proposal to cast your vote as a leader. The vote tally is visible to all leaders in the forum.

3

Discussion Thread

Tap the discussion area under any proposal to expand the message thread. Type your thoughts and tap Send to post a message. You can delete your own messages. This is where leaders debate the merit of each proposal before voting.

4

Proposal Statuses

  • 🔵 Open for voting — leaders are actively voting on it
  • 🟡 Pending admin review — majority agreed, sent to admin to schedule as a session
  • 🟢 Published as session — admin approved it; it is now (or has been) a live FDP session
  • 🔴 Declined by admin — admin rejected the topic
  • No consensus — leaders could not agree
5

Close or Delete Your Own Proposal

You can close a proposal you submitted if you no longer want it to proceed, or if it has reached no consensus. This removes it from active voting.

Part E — Strike System (Leaders)
1

What Earns a Strike

Admin issues strikes to party leaders when submitted verdicts or Lead Forum proposals violate content rules — political party names, religion references, politician names, hate speech, or misleading media links.

2

Strike Warning Banner

If you have active strikes, a banner appears at the top of the FDP screen below the header:

  • ⚠️ 1 strike — yellow banner: "Be mindful of content rules"
  • 🔶 2 strikes — orange banner: "One more may result in leader dismissal"
  • 🔴 3 strikes — red banner: "Admin may dismiss you as leader at any time"

Tap the banner to expand it and see the reason and date for each individual strike.

3

Consequences

At 3 strikes, admin can dismiss you as party leader. The party does not disappear — it continues with its members, and a new leadership election can be held. Keep verdicts factual, constructive, and rule-compliant to avoid strikes.

👑 The Last Winner banner on the Home screen always shows which party won the most recent session and who the winning leader is. Crown counts are shown on each party card — the more crowns, the stronger the party's track record.
